Pretty hair does not come from expensive products, it comes from the right habits. These tips work for every hair type.

Wash less, hydrate more

Washing every day strips the natural oils that protect your hair. For most teens, washing every 2-3 days is ideal. If it gets greasy fast, try dry shampoo between washes.

Pro tipPut shampoo only on your scalp. Conditioner is the opposite: only on the ends, never on your scalp.

Cold water at the end

After rinsing out your conditioner, finish with 30 seconds of cold water. It seals the cuticle and makes your hair look shiny.

Heat protectant: non-negotiable

If you use a straightener or curling iron, put on heat protectant first. Without this step the heat breaks down your hair proteins over time.

A homemade mask that works

One spoon of coconut oil + one of honey. Apply to the ends, wait 20 minutes, wash as usual. You will see the difference from the first try.

The type of hair tie matters

Metal hair ties break your hair. Use scrunchies or metal-free spiral ties, especially if you wear it up a lot.

Eat well

Hair is made of protein. If you do not eat enough, it sheds more and grows slower. Eggs, beans, nuts and chicken are your best friends.
